Washington Potato Company Give UVC a Tumble to Eliminate Bacteria

Keeping coliform bacteria counts below required thresholds is a challenge for food processors everywhere.

Though we were generally successful in controlling coliform bacteria levels on our products, the time and costs required to achieve control were excessive, said Nicholas Ross, quality assurance and technical services director for the potato processing company.

Solution: Harness the germicidal effects of UVC light  from Steril Aire (Ultraviolet light in the C band wavelenght) installed in a REYCO custom designed tumbling drums for decontamination of food surfaces. UVC light applied within the tumbling Drum will effectively destroy Coliform, Salmonella, E.coli, Staphylococcus, Listeria, and Anthrax on your products prior to packaging.
